The Lifestyle Guide:
Fall in the City
Welcome to our latest Lifestyle Guide, where we cross off must-do activities and take our new arrivals for a spin in a bucket-list location. Our destination: New York City.
As summer winds down, we’re welcoming a return to routine—and cooler temps, moody hues, and all the fall textures—in our favorite neighborhood of our favorite city, NYC’s West Village.
Nothing eases the transition back into the office quite like your a.m. caffeine fix. A short jaunt down 7th Ave South offers tons of coffee shop options and plenty of street style inspo.
Craving something sweet? Make a milkshake stop at the old-school diner La Bonbonniere, a cash-only West Village institution since the ‘30s and one of the last of its kind.
Grab the bus for the quickest commute to the east side for drinks with friends. A Jacquard shift brings bold texture and a subtle sheen to fun post-work plans.
WEDNESDAY
Grabbing the paper, a bouquet, or a BEC at the corner bodega is a rite of passage in NYC. There are thousands of bodegas throughout the city, but the best is always the one on your block.
A casual but elevated work look is a total cinch to pull off. Just add a universally flattering trench coat and polished neutral accessories.
One of our favorite parts of fall is when texture comes out of retirement and back into rotation—think suede, velvet, corduroy, and this chic little leather mini. Time to get friendly with your neighborhood cleaners again.
A return to routine means book club is back in action after a summer hiatus. Head to your local shop to trade in your beach reads for new paperbacks, then wrap up your errands in our lightweight chambray Callahan Dress.
Look glamorous in a matching floral set while taking your best friend—like Riley, an adorable Samoyed —for a quick stroll before evening plans.
Classes are back in session for the kids, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun along the way. Wear your favorite sweater with on-trend cuffed jeans and let your little one bring a fuzzy friend for show and tell.
With the fall charity season underway, auctions and galas have taken over your calendar. Dress to dazzle in a crinkled lurex maxi that’s guaranteed to turn heads from the D train to the dance floor.
When strolling down Carmine St., it’s impossible not to grab a slice at NYC’s most legendary pizza joint, Joe’s Pizza. It tastes even better when enjoyed with Joe, the owner since 1975.
